The beginning of August we went camping to Boulder, right out of Capital Reef National Park, we camp in Singletree campground and its beautiful. My family has gone there since I can remember since its where my grandparents grew up and so we'd go down there for family reunions every year. Its been almost 5 years since I've been down so I was way excited for it.
Abbie and Grace did so good. Abbie slept in my parents trailer and Grace slept out in the tent with Devin and me. They both slept better up there then they do at home and it was so fun to just be relaxed and take it easy for a few days.
On the 2nd day we were there Abbie was in my parents trailer and my mom had gone outside and Abbie wanted to follow so she was having my dad put on her shoes so she could go out, my dad was then putting on his shoes and told Abbie to wait just a minute while he got ready. She being her lovely two year old self told him No, and then pushed on the screen door to get out of the trailer. What she didn't realize is that there isn't a latch on the screen so it went flying open and she went tumbling down to the ground, about a 3 foot drop since we were camped on an angle. She fell right into the gravel and got a good gash on her forehead and upper lip. Its was horrible to hear your child getting hurt and know there was nothing you could do. She actually did really good with it though and didn't cry very long at all. We kept trying to decide if we should take her to get stitches but decided not to since the closest hospital was 3 hours away and the bleeding stopped. She has two good scars to show from it and when people ask how she got her owie she says "Abbie fall out of gramma trailer, papa said wait, and Abbie no wait"
Abbie went fishing for the first time and loved it. I think she enjoyed putting her feet in the water and throwing rocks into the lake more than the actual fishing though. My dad caught a few fish and Abbie liked looking at them but once they started splashing she was done with them.
Grace slept most of the time and just enjoyed being outside.
I left the camera at home so these are the only pictures I have of the trip but it was fun to spend time with my family and cousins and get a break from the norm of life. I can't wait to go back again next year!
